“There’s something profoundly moving about listening to an artist express themselves, revealing his or her hidden self through art. Not only is the experience rewarding for the listener, but it’s cathartic for the writer. These emotions bubble to the surface during the Writer’s Spotlight, organized by JFP writer Janine Jankovitz and held in intimate locations across Jackson. Writers bring their words—some perform them, others simply read—and share a small piece of their craft with other artists. If you haven’t been to the Commons at Eudora Welty’s Birthplace, you should definitely attend this event, which lends itself well to its historic backdrop.”
What a wonderful surprise!
