cue the balloons and the confetti because it’s February
Remember when on Pee Wee Herman’s Playhouse there would be a “word of the day” and when that word was said during the show all the characters would scream with joy? Well the word of the month is “vagina” because for the first time ever, The Vagina Monologues are being brought to Jackson, Mississippi.
The Vagina Monologues in Jackson will be taking place Friday & Saturday February 20-21 at 7pm at Rainbow Wholefoods Co-op Grocery. The event is sponsored by the Fondren Theatre Workshop, the Jackson Free Press and the Jackson Area N.O.W. The tickets are $15, and all proceeds go towards charity such as The Women’s Fund and the Mississippi Coalition Again Domestic Violence. For more information contact Kimberly Griffin at firstname.lastname@example.org
I’m so excited to be a part of the performance. This will be my second time performing in the Monologues, my first time being at Temple University in 2006 . And in honor of that, here’s a blast from the (not so distant) past:
the three performers of “The Woman who loved to make Vaginas Happy”
Tickets are limited, as the Co-op has limited space. I suggest reserving your tickets.
Please come out and support the show this month!
